D.C.-born hitmaker Call Your Mother gets Amazon HQ2 workers hooked on its wood-fired bagels starting next year. The wildly popular cafe scattered all over the DMV will settle into a stall at National Landing’s all-outdoor Water Park food hall this winter, the team exclusively tells Eater.
Wine sellers Kabir Amir and Swati Bose are resurrecting their beloved business as a wine shop featuring modestly priced vinos from around the globe.
A longtime community gathering spot, the water park underwent major renovations in 2022 to become an outdoor food hall. These added several restaurant kiosks, a cocktail and oyster bar, public art, a performance stage and more outdoor seating.
Visitors to National Landing can now take advantage of Club Volo, a recreational space with beach volleyball courts, thanks to a partnership between real estate developer JBG SMITH and adult social sports company Volo Sports.
The REIT is launching a $40M repositioning effort of the 11-story building at 2011 Crystal Drive, adding a suite of amenities that it says will attract companies not only to that property but to the ones it owns nearby.
The Michelin Guide-recognized Bar Chinois has also signed on for space at 1900 Crystal Drive. Other tenants include the Colada Shop, Drybar, nailsaloon, Tatte Bakery & Cafe and Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, among others.
The final beam was placed atop the two residential towers at 2000 and 2001 S. Bell Street, formerly Crystal Plaza One, this week. Developer JBG Smith and its project manager, Balfour Beatty, announced the “topping out” construction milestone on Monday.

Surreal is the latest restaurant with a modernist twist from Seven Reasons Group.
